The Howrah Bowls Club is situated on the
eastern shore of Hobart, the capital of Australia's island state, Tasmania.
The Club was officially opened in February 1988 and is situated at the Howrah Recreation
Centre in a superb setting. It has a modern consitution with equal rights for both
men and ladies. This is reflected in the open and friendly atmosphere of the Club.
The Howrah Bowls Club has one lawn green and one synthetic green. This allows bowls
to be played all the year round. Pennant and mid-week competitions are played during
the summer period with social bowls being played during the winter months. Social
bowls are an important feature of the Club all year round with both men and ladies
participating. |
